Jazz is a fun, upbeat and expressive class. It can take many different paths from Broadway to funk. Jazz can be fluid and into the floor in the styles of Mattox & Luigi, theatrical in the likes of Fosse or sharper and stronger moves. Classes usually begins with a warm-up including body conditioning, followed with technique, progressions and choreography. Co-enrollment in a ballet class is required for levels II and higher.
Attire: Girls: Leotard with dance shorts and tights or form fitting tank top, dance pants, capris or shorts, tan jazz shoes. Hair secured neatly in a bun, ponytail or braid. Boys: Solid colored fitted T-shirt and black pants (no sweatpants) with thin socks & tan jazz shoes.
Black jazz shoes may be required for shows depending on costume.
