This dance form was developed in America in the 1800’s. Tap is a rhythmic style of dancing using shoes with metal ‘taps’ designed to help the dancer make rhythm. Students will learn timing, balance, coordination and teamwork during a high energy and fast paced class. Be prepared to have fun! Tap is seen in many films featuring stars from Shirley Temple to Gregory Hines.
Attire: Girls: Leotard or form fitting top with dance pants, capris or shorts, black lace up tap shoes. Hair secured neatly in a bun, ponytail or braid. Boys: Solid colored fitted shirt and black pants (no sweatpants) with thin socks & black tap shoes.

Tap shoe brands accepted: Bloch or Capezio
